************************************************************** ANNOUNCEMENTS It is not too early to start planning your collection of shoe boxes especially while school supplies are out right now. The National Collection Week is November 14 - 21, 2011 and Oakview Baptist Church is going to be where you will be able to bring your shoeboxes. Ms. Betty Burton is the Chairperson and she is setting a goal of 1600 shoeboxes for this year! Let's see if we can do it! Start planning now how many your church is going to do, double what you did last year! What a great Mission Project this is to be involved in and know you are helping to spread God's word to children who don't know Jesus. Hours of operation to bring the shoeboxes at Oakview Baptist Church: Monday, November 14 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday, November 15 - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Wednesday, November 16 - 9:00 am to 1:30 pm Thursday, November 17 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Friday, November 18 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday, November 19 - 10:00 am to noon Sunday, November 20 (FINAL DAY) - 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm LET"S MAKE THAT GOAL of 1600 BOXES OR MORE!!
Oct. 9 - World Hunger Sunday October 17 - Big Lake Baptist Association 57th Annual Meeting @ Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana Okeechobee, 5051 NW 30th Street, Okeechobee, FL (This is their new church building). Dinner will be at 6:00 pm and meeting will begin at 7:00 pm. October 22 - If you were not able to attend the meeting on September 24, you can still attend the "Iron Sharpens Iron" meeting, hosted by The Florida Men of Integrity that will be in Ocala. Keynote Speakers will be Larry Jackson and Glenn Wagner. You can go online at www.IronSharpensiron.net to register or check out other information. Oct. 28-29 - Women of Faith Conference, Ft. Lauderdale, FL - Register at www.womenoffaith.com . Women, if there is ever a conference you need to attend, it is this one. You will come away from it so blessed! Would love to see all the churches in the Association have their women attend this conference. They do offer group rates. If you can only come for one day, it is still worth it! Nov. 5 - XTREME MISSIONS "TEKKI TREK" at Oakview Baptist Church, 677 SW 32nd Street, Okeechobee, FL 34974 - 10:00 am to 2:30 pm - For boys and girls, grades 1 - 6 and their leaders. Please be sure to register @ 222.flbaptist.org/wmmdocuments or call 800-226-8584, ext. 3140. The cost will be $16 which includes lunch and t-shirt.(They need to know how many are planning to come so they will have enough shirts) This is a regional event that many churches from South Florida are planning to attend. When you come, be sure to bring school supplies for the migrant children to help with the Ministry Project. Plan to experience mission stops with International missionaries, North American missionaries & volunteers.
